Kelly's Kids Graphic Designer Helps Tackle Alzheimer's.
On Saturday, August 14, 2010, over 100 of Dallas's most talented, intelligent and, not to mention, beautiful women will put their game face on for their 3rd annual Blondes vs. Brunettes flag football fundraiser to benefit the Alzheimer's Association Greater Dallas Chapter. As a part of a nationwide network of chapters, the Greater Dallas Chapter provides help and support to over 57,000 individuals across North and East Texas living with Alzheimer's and each of their caregivers. Services include a 24/7 help line, counseling, information and education for families and caregivers, support groups, Safe Return, training for professionals, community education, and government advocacy on the state and local levels. Kelly's Kids Graphic Designer, Holly Aldredge, is participating in this year's event not only to support the Alzheimer's Association, but also in memory of her great grandmother, Wilena Hall. Holly has set a personal goal to raise $800 toward this effort as Blondes vs. Brunettes tries to beat last year's donations of $150,000! To help Holly tackle Alzheimer's, visit www.active.com/donate/bvbdallas/hollyhaldredge With 100% of your donation going directly to The Greater Dallas Area Chapter, you truly can make a difference. Kelly's Kids Hostess Helps in Haiti.
In January 2010, Kelly's Kids hostess Pastor Carrie Evans, from Warrenton, VA, traveled to Haiti to offer help to those in need, not knowing how the need would escalate in the coming days, after the 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit southern Haiti. Days before the earthquake, Carrie, and her friends and family donated clothing, food, supplies and medical attention to those in need. The response from the Haitians was overwhelming, particularly from the children who danced and sang in the streets with Carrie and her friends. Carrie and her group experienced the earthquake first-hand and were stunned at the changes they saw in the infrastructure of Haiti, but not in the faith of the Haitians. Carrie shared her experience with her congregation in her sermon on January 31: "And as I walked from the clinic to the school for the last time, I was met in the dirt filled road by children. Once again they were beating their makeshift drums, dancing in the streets, singing songs and saying goodbye. They yelled in their tiny Haitian voices "Carrie... Carrie" and I joined them, dancing in the streets...right there, in what seems to many like a God forsaken land, God is present, He is alive and He dances in the streets with hungry children...It is God that invites you to join the dance as well. We are one...we are connected. They are as much a part of us as we are of them." Carrie knew there was much more she could do to help the people of Haiti. Upon her return to the States, Carrie worked with her Kelly's Kids Rep, Katie Turner, to determine how to use her Kelly's Kids party to help raise awareness and money for Haiti. Friends and family shopped for clothes, and Carrie donated her winnings -- over $450 -- to the Bethlehem Ministry in Haiti, to support relief efforts as a result of the earthquake. The money Carrie donated was enough to feed 100 people for a week! The testimony and images were shared with Kelly's Kids by Carrie's Kelly's Kids Rep, Katie Turner from Middleburg, VA. Thank you for sharing your experience with us! Kelly's Kids Continues to Touch Lives in Africa.

Orphanages in Peru Receive Gifts from Kelly's Kids.
In July 2007, a mission team from Natchez, MS - representing the Natchez Children's Home - traveled to Peru to visit and minister to children in several Peruvian orphanages: Home of the Ancients, Huaycan, San Ramon, Chilca, Agape and Elin. Kelly's Kids donated clothes to the orphanages to clothe hundreds of children who had been removed from abusive homes or were living on the streets. The children - many of whom had very few pieces of clothing of their own - were very excited and appreciative to receive new outfits...you can see it in their smiles!
